About Kimberley

So pleased to meet you!  Here's a little bit about me:

Birthplace: Honolulu, Hawaii -- in Tripler Army Hospital...I was born a 'Navy Brat'!  Aloha!

Favorite ingredient:  Balsamic Vinegar...if you haven't tried it yet, you 'must'!

Favorite 'convenience' food: Dried apricots -- they're great for snacking, and healthy, too!

Favorite 'mood food':  Gorgonzola Mashed Potatoes -- recipe available in my latest cookbook, The Joy of Food.

Favorite cooking method: Convection Roasting -- it makes everything perfect!

Foods I could never live without:  Cheese and butter...after all, I am 'the dairy queen'!

Foods I will not eat:  Honestly, I never met a food I didn't like!

Favorite TV Chef: Paula Deen -- I LOVE her!!!

Most exotic foods eaten: Fish tacos and cactus soup -- from a street vendor in Mexico City -- scary at first, then scrumptious!

Start my day with:  Homemade Granola -- recipe on this site!  Fresh, seasonal fruit on the side, too!

End my day with:  Bigelow® Sweet Dreams Herbal Tea......ahhhhh...nighty-night!

Favorite restaurant:  In Tulsa, I highly recommend The Garlic Rose

Culinary Philosophy:  Whether you're eating for nourishment, or eating for mood...don't miss out on The Joy of Food!

Best kitchen advice:  Like I always say...a great recipe is merely a powerful suggestion!  Play with your food!

Watch me cook:  On KOTV-Channel 6!  Watch Thursdays on the Noon Show, and Saturday evenings at 6:30 on Discover Oklahoma.  (News 9 outside of the Tulsa area).

People are always a little surprised to learn: I speak fluent Spanish, and earned a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Colorado, at Colorado Springs.  I also speak a little French!  Bon appetit!
